Toy Drive
Please bring all donated items to CCCM Children’s Ministry Office - Room # MCA 19 or to the donation box in the church courtyard.
If you would prefer to make a financial contribution please make your gift payable to CCCM with an attached note designating it to the “Summer 2017 Iraq Mission Trip."
- Brand-new, small light weight toys & stuffed animals, sport caps and thermal water bottles to give away to the Iraqi Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugee children.
- Used and high quality, modest accessories (earrings, bracelets, broaches etc.) to also distribute to the refugee women and IDPs.

Participation

Mission:
To serve the Lord and communicate the love of Jesus by reaching the children, young adults, and families of the local people, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugees of the Middle East in this region.

Methods:
- To use fun, creative, and practical means (including music, games, and food!) to communicate the love and care of God to these people.
- To explain the Good News of the Gospel to children who have suffered the physical, emotional, and psychological ravages of war and terrorism.
Evangelistic means and commitment standards:
- To communicate the "answer for the hope that lies within us" with graciousness and humility.
- To win the hearts of the people by kindness and true friendship and by avoiding all forms of argument and debate.
Qualifications
Prayerfully consider all the aspects of this trip before applying:
- An intense trip, you need to be flexible and able to quickly adjust to possible changing circumstances.
- Adopt to physical challenging with extensive walking sometimes in extremely hot weather (over 110F). Your doctor need to verify that you can participate in such a trip and must have all medical shots required for travel in the Middle East.
- Be willing to travel light but also be willing to check-in an additional 100lb suitcase filled with backpacks and children's supplies. Be willing to give a day (date to be announced) to help pack these suitcases.
- Agree to and abide by the CCCM Statement of Faith.
- Passport: A valid passport that has more than six (6) months before its expiration. http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/apply.html. Presently it takes several weeks to obtain a non-expedited new passport.
Team Activities
The team will be serving in some rather underdeveloped villages in N. Iraq and will be reaching out with God’s amazing love to the locals, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and refugee children and youth. We will be presenting a VBS-style children's program, support group, and providing a cafe-style meeting place for the youth. Areas of service include participating in various activities and games for children, walking, singing, jumping, and swimming, playing soccer, playing instruments, teaching the Bible, making American coffee, and visiting families.
Cost & Financials
The estimated cost of the 16-day trip is $3600 which includes airfare, ground travel, accommodation, and some meals. Meals while traveling are not included.
